Weezy’s back! The city of Miami converged to welcome back Lil Wayne. The rapper received a homecoming fit for a king as Cash Money executives Birdman and Slim hosted a lavish party for their superstar on Sunday (Nov. 7).
After taking in the Hornets-Heat game in New Orleans and performing with Drake in Las Vegas, Weezy capped off his first weekend back home in Miami. His CMYMB family including Drizzy, a teal-haired Nicki Minaj, Jay Sean, Shanell, and Kevin Rudolf celebrated at the retrofitted bank, along with Busta Rhymes, Fat Joe, T-Pain, Wale, D. Woods, and Cool & Dre. The guest of honor arrived with a cigar in hand and two showgirls flanking him on each arm.
“I just wanna thank everybody,” Mr. Carter told MTV News on the carpet. “Not only MTV fans, but the fans across the whole world. Most of all, my family. I couldn’t do it without them and I would never do it without them.”
The celebration continued at King of Diamonds strip club where $700 bottles of PJ Rose Perrier-Jouët champagne were chilling on ice. Once Weezy recovers from the festivities, he will return to the studio to work on Tha Carter IV and a Pink Friday remix for Nicki.

Lil Wayne Celebrates Homecoming at Hornets Game After making a stop in Yuma, Arizona, for a court appearance stemming from his 2008 arrest on drug and weapon-possession charges, Lil Wayne flew back to his hometown of New Orleans where he kicked it courtside at the Hornets vs. Heat basketball game on Friday (Nov. 5).
A long-haired Weezy sported a Cincinnati Reds fitted, dark shades, white tee, and black Converse while tapping on his iPhone 4. His CMYMB crew—Birdman, Mack Maine, and manager Cortez Bryant—shared laughs and cheered as his home team claimed victory over Miami at the New Orleans Arena.
There are whispers that the recently released rapper will appear onstage at Drake’s tour finale tonight at The Joint inside the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. The homecoming party continues on Sunday at King of Diamonds strip club in Miami where he already has 48 bottles of champagne on ice at $700 a pop.
