The Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts is proud to announce a star-studded birthday celebration & all-star benefit concert presented by Afeni Shakur and Hollywood actor/ comedian Mike Epps (June 16, 2009) in honor of the late hip-hop icon Tupac Shakur, it was announced today by Epps’ Naptown Productions.
The unique partnership was created by Epps, who despite juggling a national comedy tour, promotion of the new DVD “Funny Bidness” and two box-office films, “Next Day Air” and “Janky Promoters”, decided to augment his schedule by honoring the late rapper’s birthday with a fund-raising event to support The Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts and an unforgettable birthday celebration.
The celebration will honor and celebrate the life and legacy of the hip-hop great whose life was tragically taken on September 13, 1996, leaving behind a multi-generational legion of fans and musical followers.
Taking place on the grounds of The Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts in Atlanta, special celebrity invited guests such as Ludacris, Ciara, Young Jeezy, Big Boi, MTV’s Day 26, Jim Jones, Polow Da Don, and more are expected to participate in commemorating the birth of the legendary rapper in an extravagant momentous birthday tribute. Co-hosted by M1 of Dead Prez, more performers will be added in the coming weeks.
