Prodigy Files $30K Lawsuit Against Record Company, Familly Forced Into Foreclosure
Prodigy holds the company responsible for plunging his family into foreclosure. He says the Vox Music Group agreed in August 2007 to pay him $10,300 a month but that it has missed three payments and failed to give him a semiannual royalty accounting statement. "These breaches...have put Prodigy's family in financial peril," say documents filed last Monday (March 23) in Manhattan Supreme Court. The Mobb Deep frontman recently made headlines after a collection of a letters revealed his thoughts on Rick Ross and Vibe magazine.
"Now it's the slavery of our minds covertly," P wrote. "There's people out there who get the chills when they hear Rick Ross, like he's something special. These are the kind of fools we're dealing with...I was just reading Vibe Magazine's 'Best Rapper Alive 2008' article...Vibe says 920,000 people voted for it. Serving a three and a half year jail bid, SOHH previously reached out to Mobb Deep's Havoc to get an update on this partner's condition.
"His health is good as far as I know," Hav said. "He's in good spirits. He wants to get the f*ck out but he's feeling good. We just want to hurry up and get him home and get back to normal life." Prodigy pleaded guilty October 2007 to gun possession which led to his current incarceration.
Mobb Deep rapper Prodigy has been sentenced to three-and-a-half years behind bars after pleading guilty to a weapons charge dating back to 2006. Authorities say Prodigy was pulled over in downtown Manhattan after he was spotted driving in the opposite direction on a one-way street in an attempt to claim a parking spot. A search of the car turned up an unlicensed .22-caliber pistol. He will begin his sentence January 2008. Vox Music Group has yet to release a statement regarding Prodigy's lawsuit.

Bentley Continental GT Speed by Mansory.
Bavarian exotic auto tuners Mansory, designers of the $2.5 million Vincero Bugatti Veyron we wrote about earlier, have unveiled their latest creation, a killer matte black Bentley Continental GT Speed. Mansory specializes in souped-up supercars, and the GT Speed is no exception with its 6.0L W12 boosted by 75 hp for a total of 685 hp plus an additional 111 lb-ft of torque allowing it to hit a new top speed of about 216 mph. Custom front and rear aprons form a unit with the sideskirts giving the car a more aggressive appearance and increased performance. Other upgrades include four angular chrome tailpipes, custom alloy wheels, an air suspension control unit, and two-tone black and beige quilted leather seats.

Rapper T.I. to be sentenced to prison Friday

ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) -- World-famous rapper T.I. will appear in a federal courtroom Friday for sentencing on weapons charges related to purchasing machine guns and silencers.
T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris, has mentored at-risk students as part of his community service.
T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris, is expected to be sentenced to one year in prison and be ordered to pay a $100,000 fine, under the terms of a plea agreement reached with authorities last year.
The agreement allowed Harris to remain out of prison for a year while he performed 1,000 hours of community service.
In that time, Harris has completed his hours by mentoring at-risk students at 58 schools, 12 Boys & Girls Clubs, nine churches and many other nonprofit organizations, according to court documents.
Meanwhile, the rapper has released his sixth CD, "Paper Trail," which has sold close to 2 million copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Harris recently talked to CNN about learning from his mistakes.
"You shouldn't take the things that I've gone through and the negative parts of my life and admire me for that," Harris said. "If anything, admire me for how I've accepted responsibility for the part I've played in placing myself in these situations and what I've done to recover from it."
Harris starred in the film "ATL" and could be seen in Chevy commercials with NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. Harris was named to the Forbes list of top-earning rappers in 2006, banking an estimated $16 million.
Later, Harris' fall from grace was sudden and dramatic. He was arrested in October 2007 in an Atlanta parking lot hours before he was to perform at the BET Hip Hop Awards.
Harris was caught in a federal sting after his bodyguard-turned-informant delivered three machine guns and two silencers to him, prosecutors said.
Harris had provided the bodyguard with $12,000 to buy the weapons. Harris was not permitted to own any guns, however, because he was convicted in 1998 on felony drug charges, including possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute in Cobb County in suburban Atlanta.
For his court hearing Friday, Harris' attorneys have submitted more than 100 letters from officials who have thanked him for his community service since the weapons arrest.
One of the letters was from Georgia Supreme Court Chief Justice Leah Ward Sears, who said Harris did an "outstanding job" talking to a group of teenagers about not breaking the law.
"If only one young person in that courtroom listened to Mr. Harris, and I believe they all did, we are all better for it," Sears wrote. "He was honest, humble and inspirational."
